Very chill, very beautiful view of the amazing Lac Bay on Bonaire. Windsurfing, wading/swiming and cocktails. Usually a more quiet and reflective place than most of the other beachside locations on Lac Bay, and usually not a meat-market. Excellent service by EU standards (for USA folks, that means staff does not hover and you'll need to get their attention for a refill is all). Highly recommended!

Probably the worst service we have ever experience! Light and air-con did not work in the rooms. (And did not get fixed) there where inexperienced kids in the check-in and Restaurent - truly doing their best, but lacking an adult with service mind and experience. - and I haven’t even mentioned the breakfast 😬🙈 Finally the confirmation that we had on email, was for some strange reason not valid at checkout so suddenly the price was higher 🤔🥵 On the good side the surf spot was amazing.

Our 3rd stay at the Sorobon and my 1st review. 5 stars for us but I’ll say now that the Sorobon isn’t for everyone. If ur expecting a 5 star hotel experience with gourmet food and posh accommodations you’ll b disappointed. If ur a windsurfing fanatic who likes a quiet surf vibe amongst the palms, just seconds from a breezy beach with a super nice young staff then you’ll likely agree with my 5 stars.
You won’t b spending much time in the rooms so no need to talk much about them but they r more than adequate. The porches on each chalet r super relaxing and the best place to chill between windsurfing sessions or diving trips. A decent complimentary breakfast, good beach bar for midday drinks and lunch and a below average restaurant for dinner. I’d go into town for dinner as there r lots of better restaurant choices in town.
Great service. Arrived late to find that there was a mixup with one of our rooms which was likely my fault as we had a somewhat complex itinerary. We met Fluor at the front desk who personally went and cleaned a chalet that was open so we could spend the night. Fluor looked after us the rest of the trip always checking on us, providing buckets of ice and being sincerely positive about everything. The rest of the staff was equally accommodating. They r typically young interns or gap year travelers from the Netherlands that haven’t learned to be cynical yet which was refreshing.
Super close to Jibe City and a couple of beach bars. Also about 20 minutes from town and 10/15 minutes from some good dives. The chalets r duplexes so u could get a loud or obnoxious neighbor but we’ve had good luck so far. Generally everyone is so tired from windsurfing that there isn’t too much late night noise. Going back next year (pandemic permitting) for sure.

This used to be our favorite place to stay in Bonaire as we are a windsurfing family and the location is perfect for us. The place used to have lovely rustic charm. It is now very run down, the premium ocean front chalet looked and felt old. The indoor restaurant used for breakfast has become almost comically poor. The facility charges 5 star rates, some of the highest in Bonaire.
