Tamarind Great House

The hotel is located a short distance from Sun Valley Plantation (250 metres), waterfalls, the secluded James Bond Beach (6 km), Noel Cowards Firefly (8 km), and only just 30 minutes from Ocho Rios, on the main road in a rural area of Jamaica. Guests will find shops 1 km from the hotel, restaurants 4 km away, and the centre of Orocabesa and the bus station are 6 km away. This charming eco hotel is built on the site of an original farming plantation that was built in the 18th century. The house has solid wooden floors made from locally sourced trees across the floor, with antiques and locally crafted furniture to enhance the feeling of colonial Jamaica. The 13-hectare farm produces fruit and vegetables used in the kitchen of the hotel. The country house offers a relaxed and safe environment, surrounded by green hills, and tropical flora and fauna. Facilities available to guests at the 9-room historical hotel include a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, currency exchange facilities, a hotel safe, mobile phone rental, a bar, TV lounge, restaurant and terrace. Guests may also take advantage of the laundry service, and those arriving by car may leave their vehicle in the car park. The rooms are spacious with large balconies and each one features an en suite bathroom with shower, a washing machine, double or king-size bed, a lounge area and a terrace.
