This a terrible, dirty, filthy hotel, rude reservation team, mainly a guy by the name of Eber. The reception guys didn't have any power. The hotel is old, not well maintained. This is our only bad experience in Brazil.

I would NOT recommend this hotel if your looking for something more modern and fancy. We got this hotel through Hotwire Hotrate which means that the hotel name is revealed after you pay. We are from Canada and came to Brazil for the 1st time. So I would describe Canadian 5 star hotels are about a 3 star in Brazil. The room we got is very spacious which is nice. The location is awesome since its on the beach. The beds are comfortable. Washroom is clean. However, everything is very outdated/old. This morning I woke up with little dots on my left hand which are SUPER itchy. I then noticed little bugs inside our room UGH. While I took a hair shower yesterday the drain got plugged. The water is not very hot and does take awhile to get warm. The handles are super old to the washroom and sink. AC is great but again super old and loud. TV we didnt use but seems useless and old. There is wifi at the hotel but its SUPER SLOW. The buffet was okay nothing that shined through for us. The customer service is awesome as everyone took the time to translate everything into English for us. The front desk has booked us a car for 110 reals per day which is good. The pool is VERY small. On a sunny day it could be very busy with not many chairs available to use. The room service was awesome no complaints there. We are here until Mar 8th 2019 which sucks since everyone is here for the Carnival. I would recommend this hotel to a younger crowd who are mainly coming for the Carnival or to party. I would recommend this hotel if your a couple who would only come back to the hotel at night to sleep and if you dont mind hostels. I personally WILL NOT COME BACK. I found Hotwire and the hotel website to be very misleading. Pictures and social media portrayed this hotel to be like a "palace" when it is not. Definitely disappointed.

I absolutely love this hotel. I've stayed here twice while traveling in Brazil on vacation, and will always make it my go to in Florianopolis as long as it's available. The hotel is clean, staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the view from every room I've been in has been exceptional.

My experience began months ago when I booked my room and spoke with Jasmine, going back and forth and trying to figure out which room I should get. Should I go for the one bedroom with the full ocean view and two balconies or the side view. Of course, I went for the front view. Jasmine was incredible and I was not surprised when I arrived and was greeted by Fabiana (front desk) with the warmest of smiles and hospitality.
I realized I would need to rent a car as I was there for a work related event and my travels would take me into centre Florianópolis on multiple occasions. I asked Fabiana if she could arrange this for me and she did. She contacted Sergio at Maestro (highly recommend) and the next morning I had the cutest little red car (fiat). She also arranged for Sergio to take me to the airport in my cute little car when I had to sadly depart. Service the BEST!
My room was beautiful. I was alone and probably didn't need such a large room, but I was glad to have it. I appreciated the beautiful views, the little kitchenette and let me tell you about the Jacuzzi bath tub with views of the ocean.
The full buffet breakfast was delicious and the wine choices really nice. I have nothing and I mean nothing bad to say about this hotel. The white sandy beach was perfect (I grabbed a little to bring home) and the sweet little town was warm and inviting.
Really... If I ever go back, there will be no choice for me but to stay here. Thank you so much Palace Praia for exceeding all of my expectations and making me feel like I was truly home.
